Delaware and Montana has become the latest states to have Volume 1 of its BEAD initial proposal approved by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
Ready congratulates Roddy Flynn and the Delaware, and Misty Ann GIles of Montana, and their teams, for this important step toward getting broadband access toward all of the states’ citizens.
With this step, Delaware officials said they plan to kick off its challenge “within the next few weeks.” The states are free to begin the challenge within one week of approval by the NTIA
Volume 1 of the Initial Proposal details each states’ plans for a challenge process to determine BEAD-eligible locations.
Delaware received just over the statutory minimum of $100 million, which the state has said will be enough to connect the un- and underserved locations remaining after its ARPA dollars are spent. Montana was allocated $628 million.
