Electromagnetic Pulse Resistant Enclosures

Also Known As: EMP Resitant Enclosures

Electromagnetic pulse resistant enclosures are hardened physical containment systems designed to shield electronic equipment from electromagnetic pulse (EMP) effects across a broad frequency spectrum. EMP-resistant enclosures use conductive materials, controlled grounding, filtered power and data interfaces, and sealed apertures to prevent transient electromagnetic energy from coupling into internal systems. In a cybersecurity and critical-infrastructure context, these enclosures serve as a last-line physical control that preserves the availability and integrity of mission-critical computing, communications, and control systems during intentional or accidental electromagnetic events, including nuclear, non-nuclear, and geomagnetic disturbances.
