The SUCCESS for BEAD Act is proposed federal legislation designed to enhance and extend the impact of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program by authorizing greater flexibility in the use of remaining BEAD funds after states meet core universal broadband deployment requirements. The Act would permit unallocated or surplus BEAD funding to be directed toward competitive investments that strengthen long-term broadband outcomes, including network resilience, public safety and emergency communications, workforce development, cybersecurity, and infrastructure supporting national security and advanced digital technologies.

By focusing on sustainability and strategic use of federal broadband investments, the SUCCESS for BEAD Act aims to ensure that BEAD-funded infrastructure continues to support economic competitiveness, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, and critical connectivity needs well beyond initial deployment milestones.

The bill and its legislative status are available on Congress.gov.
